I can confirm that the Canon off camera cord works On the Olympus (510) and at
a
fraction of the price.
Have been using it it this configuration for over 2 years as well as using it
on
my Canon.

I think this is what you're looking for

B&H also sells an equivalent under the Dot-Line name at a much lower
price. There are no product reviews for that one but there are reviews
for the Dot-Line equivalent for the Canon cord. Some reviewers are
perfectly pleased while others complain of connection problems so
suspect some QC trouble there. Some also say that Canon's own off-shoe
cord is a functional replacement for the Oly cord. Oly uses 3 contacts,
Canon uses 4 and thus can sub for Oly while Oly can't sub for Canon. I
have a Canon shoe cord but no Oly camera to try it on. Canon's own shoe
cord is now on version 3 so may benefit from some long customer use and
feedback into engineering changes. I only have the original version 1
which was reputed to suffer from cables being pulled out of their
sockets by overly energetic photogs. Mine is fine. You'd have to be a
gorilla to break it but I guess some folks are. So, the Canon version 3
is good but is costs quite a bit more than the Oly
