More of countries divided by a common language I suspect. :-)
In the US an entree is the main dish consisting of the meat/fish,
potatoes/rice and veggies. Dishes served ahead of the entree are called
appetizers. I suppose we've warped its meaning from the original
French. Don't know why. I don't know what the Canadians say. That
might be interesting since they have to live with both languages.
