I used Geosetter some time ago. More recently, I've used Exiftool to simply
copy from the JPEGs to CR2s and/or PSDs in
batches. I'll see if I can find some CR2s done with Geosetter and try opening
them in DXO.

"Lightroom, as well as Photoshop CS2 - CS5, use what are called XMP sidecar
files that describe the changes and
additions applied to a RAW image. These include the addition of metadata, all
of the adjustments made in Lightroom or
Adobe Camera RAW and any other adjustments or alterations added such as
keywords and the like."

They are text files, and may be viewed in text editors, Excel, etc. It's
similar to EXIF as one would view it in
ExiftoolGui or other EXIF viewer/editors. One could also modify them, but then
the image editors might not read them
correctly.

Good luck!
