We went to the cardiologist Dec. 29, as scheduled, where Ben had another echo.
According to the doc, his heart is showing improvement, which they see as a
very positive sign. It's not quite as dilated, and the blood flow from the bad
aortic valve has increased measurably. (The doc said he would have been happy
to see no further deterioration, and did not really expect to see much if any
improvement.)
So now we're on a two month wait to see if we can get more improvement. They
want his heart as healthy as possible before doing surgery to replace the valve.
His path still is fraught with peril, but he's doing well. I just wish I could
say the same for his parents. <g>
Thanks to all for prayers, good wishes, positive thoughts and other
intersessions with a fickle and capricious universe.
