Much thanks for the links and comments, Tim.
The per pixel utilization of light in these sensors must be very good 
w/o using filters.
It appears the spectral sensitivity of the R-B vertically arranged 
silicone guys in the Foveon aren't so hot, and the this
organic layer method seems very good.  Appears very fancy processing is 
required wiht the Foveon to get accurate colors. Appears this would 
make it much easier.  Wonder how they do with  true purple?
Would be nice to see it implemented in a real product.
