You are right, I probably *could* have a machinist make me some, but I  
do
think that considerably more than a lathe would be required, though.  
It's
also a precisely-sealing part, with rubber gasket and everything.

Having one made is a distant Plan B. I just know there is a pile sitting
somewhere, unused... Waiting to be discovered...

P.S. Amazing that I could not locate a single image of this via
Google Image search! I'll take a photo myself sometime. The only digital
camera I own is my mobile phone, but oh well...
