The first one's easy we don't have a microwave ;-)  Hate flourescents 
but thats due to teh flicker. The one thing i am not sure about is we 
have some piezo operated light switches light switches so I guess the 
reciever must be emitting something, but they are graet no need for 
wireing or batteries just stick them where you want.

Luckily the house is old and walls are thick, the concrete  where there 
is some is reinforced which shields most things, the mobile won't work 
downstairs in the new kitchen

I did my apprenticeship in a telex exchange +or-80V if you shorted them 
out you new it much worse a than a mains shock.
