Looks like a good companion piece to the Bradford Pear.

We have a whole bunch of trees in town blossoming, especially cherries. Every
year, many flowering trees not native to
this climate get fooled by relatively warm, dry weather in the middle of
winter, and bloom early - often only to have
the flowers dashed down by the next rain.

This year, we had a very early, wet onset of winter, followed by several weeks
of mild, mostly dry weather. Then in mid
Feb. through March, we had a lot of rain (snow pack 60% above average so far).
The relatively warm, dry period was early
enough that it fooled fewer trees than usual, although there were quite a few,
including mine, that fell for it.

Suddenly, Wed was beautiful, clear with a few fluffy clouds and temps in the
upper 60s. Then wham, yesterday and today
were like summer, clear with temps in the upper 70s. I had dinner last night
with an old friend visiting the area at an
outdoor table in comfort.

I suppose I should have been capturing at least a couple of the nicest trees,
but I was satisfied just taking in the beauty.
