Our little RV came with an AV setup built-in. the flat screen TV is a 19"
Samsung SyncMaster 940MW. It's a 4:3 screen,
perfect for the DVD player.

I've used it as a monitor for my netbook+. The RV was built in 2008, so the TV
has every kind of input but HDMI. An HDMI
to DVI cable connected it to the computer.

I found that I had my choice of ways to map the 768x1366 computer monitor to
the 1440x1900 TV-monitor, native
resolution, which leaves space all around, full width, which also retains
proportions, with empty space top and bottom,
or 4:3 full screen, which changes proportions. All neatly handled by the
computer video driver.

I thought color was good. I wouldn't be surprised if it could be profiled, I
don't see why not, but I don't plan to do
any color critical work on that set-up.

'Twere me, I'd take color profiling hardware/software down to Florida next
time, and try it out.
