You posted that link a few years ago which I printed and still keep in
my camera bag. So far I haven't needed it. In 2007 the family and I went up
to NYC for a week in the summer. We stayed in Midtown Manhatten and one
afternoon I walked over to Grand Central Station hoping to get a nice
low-angle light shot of the interior. It was moderately crowded and the
lighting was very good (just no cigarette smoke to bring out the sun's
rays). I was concerned there might be a problem since I was planning to use
my tripod, so I went up to a police officer in the crowd to ask if there
would be a problem. To my pleasant surprise he gave the OK but admonished
not to trip anyone with the tripod. I suppose it helped I was in shorts and
T-shirt and looked like the typical tourist-come-to-town.
