Amazing how those things sprouted wings. Must be the genetically
modified corn. You know that it was just a matter of time before Canon
finally made something good enough for me. ;)

Well, you're a few years older than me... When it comes time to
replace the 5Dmk3/4 I'll probably reconsider the current crop-sensor
options at that time too.

I don't want to shout it from the rooftops, but this is one of the
three technical reasons for going full-frame: High ISO performance is
near the top of that list.

Moose, this is exactly opposite of what you were typing in regards to
the central-portion of the 5D. The current 5Dmk2 still offers a
tremendous upgrade in central-portion resolution and can give you the
same effective multiplier effect. But I will admit that in-camera
compositions are much easier when you have WYSIWYG viewing.

Another consideration for me. The 720 is an immediate show-stopper
with the E-3. DOA.

Which is why I'm waiting till the next camera. First of all, I think
the 7D interface is so much superior to the 5Dmk2 that it's worth
waiting for the next one to come out that incorporates at least some
of the changes. Some upgraded weather-sealing is also welcome.

If I can nab the 5Dmk3 near introduction, I'll have a viable camera
for many years. Just look how long I've managed to squeeze blood from
the E-1 Turnip. From an business investment perspective, I really need
to have my equipment in mainline use for about 6 years. A decent
digital camera in the 20-30MP range should be acceptable for that
long.
