A smaller brother to the Rambler was the Austin Metropolitan, which was 
desigend by Nash and manufactured by BMC/Austin for the North American market 
(and elsewhere).

Not very global, I suspect.  They're pretty much unheard of in the UK.
 In any case, I've looked up pictures of them and in Europe a Rambler would not 
have been considered an unusually small car.
