Hi Ken,
Your experience reminds me of my first Volvo, a 1980 model. I spent more
time removing corrosion from the tail light and brake light sockets than I
did on any other maintenance. And this was a V6, which needed frequent air
intake adjustments.
Later Volvos have had no such problems.
