The distance from screw to edge is also adjustable on the Manfrotto.  That
is why the thumbscrew pass up through a slot rather than a circular hole.

Thanks.  I'll have to take a look.  But Bogen/Manfrotto has a big edge
here since I already own 3 of these anti-twist plates.
