Paul,

I'll bet you thought the B52 was quite the luxury when you transitioned from 
the B36! There is one now in its and my own home town undergoing a 
modification to keep the wings hooked on, and to extend the service life, it 
is said that the renovated aircraft will likely be in active service until 
at least their hundredth birthday. I understand that there is the 
possibility that 40 or so will be done, but just six in the first group. 
Imagine that.

That would be difficult, all right.  LOL  Done on the ground.  Most of
my Air Force career was on the ground, although for a time I was
attached to a flight crew as an inflight Bomb-Nav system technician on
B-36s and B-52s.
