     Yes, the flooding has been very bad in some places, just like the Agnes 
storm back in 1972.

     Irene pretty much died by the time it got to Coney Island, and the 
anticipated storm surge along the New Jersy coast never materialized.  But, 
it's far better to be overly cautious, expecially after Katrina.
