To follow up, Chris, I finally recalled where I last used the 2X, and found 
it.  It is marked "Soligor Auto Tele Converter 2X To Fit Pentax", Lens Made 
in Japan.  From shining a penlite through it and looking at reflections, I 
suspect it is a 3-element converter.
