There is a Beechcraft convention underway at the local airport, so I wanted to
catch a few shots of the visiting airplanes.
Before there were biz jets, back in the 1940s and 1950s, the executive
transport of choice was the Beech BE-17, fondly known as the Staggerwing. With
seating for five, and a nice cruising speed, these beauties were the best of
the best. I caught this beautiful example at the fuel pump. Bearing Canadian
registration, and in the original factory paint scheme, it personifies this
great airplane.
