Agreed. the scans are a bit flat. I'm sure their system is automated
to correct for that when it comes to printing. There is a pretty big
difference between these automated Noritsu scans and a quality scan
from a Nikon or Minolta scanner.
BTW, speaking of such, there is a Minolta 5400 sitting in Christian
Photo in Des Moines, IA. The 5400s are basically as good as it gets
for a non-drum scanner and if you know what you are doing, I would
actually give the nod to the 5400. I don't recall which version it
is--I think it's the II. I mention this because they don't show up
very often and you always run the risk with the Minoltas of getting a
busted one. Christian Photo stands behind their products. If anybody
is interested in it, I can give it a full test and broker the purchase
and shipping.
