Gone trough my archives and found the FTL manual and a few photos,
I have written in a text file that Pentax designed the FTL but it seems
odd that I didn't include any links or references, so I would tend to
say "I dont know"..

I also just did some searchs in Google, Baidu and some Russian search
engines with no luck. So its a very well hidden secret.
