I don't have any experience dealing with any auction house but with 
original works by the likes of Johnny Hart (from where I live now) and 
Walt Kelly I'd have to think that even a high brow house like Christie's 
would be interested.  You'd probably pay a big commission but it might 
be well worth it for the exposure and possibly much higher prices.

On the other hand, once you've agreed to auction you have to take what 
you get.  It can be good or bad depending on who shows up that day.
