Not true for the Super Pilot. Instead of a central neg. contact, it has a pair
of them, semi-circular springs, which are
just far enough apart to not make contact with the battery in the MR9.

It's actually a superior design to the usual central spring - if the original
batteries were still available. The Super
Pilot is a single battery meter, so the Luna Pro may have a different battery
holder design, but I'd check before
springing for a couple of MR9s. They add up to a lot more than the meter cost.

I found clear instructions for adjusting the Super Pilot for 1.5v battery. I
imagine the same exists for the Luna Pro.
