Chuck beat me to it with Sheldon's site. I agree the best fix is retrofit of 
bottom bracket with bearing system adapter and modem 3-piece crank. You 
shouldn't have to break the bank doing it either if you shop carefully on line 
for the crank and sprockets. Price drops pretty fast on last year's components 
- making price of stuff like Shimano 105 hardware quite affordable - and there 
isn't much if any functional difference between 2010, 2011 and 2012 cranks!

Be certain the new sprockets are proper width for your chain (which is proper 
width for your cogs on the rear wheel)! Do your homework on the conversion and 
all the dimensions and it should go smoothly.
