Nah. I remember endless frustration. Either I had one camera and the film speed 
I wanted at the moment wasn't in it, or 
I had to carry two cameras with different films in them.

Of course you could, if shooting Ektachrome, as I recall doing at least once, 
switch to a higher speed and use EX 
processing. Then the earlier shots on the roll were likely ruined - and you 
ended up with huge, ugly grain.

Then there was rolling back a partially used roll, switching, then later using 
the rest of the partial roll. If I 
remembered or noted correctly, I might only lose one frame. If shooting 
professionally, I suppose simply switching when 
needed and losing the latter part of the roll was no big deal. For a young man 
on a limited amateur budget, it did matter.
