    I did download a PDF of the manual this morning, but it was of little
help with the aperture, speed, and ISO questions.

    I do want to download photos, and all I really need from the CDROM is
the driver.  It may already exist in my laptop, but that brings me back to
the cable issue.  Turns out I can get those cables for less than $4 on eBay,
but only for connecting from the dock to the PC.  Doesn't look like you can
get one that goes from the calera directly to the PC.  Another design faux
pas.

    I have a couple of stray ones around here somewhere.  The E-500 has 1G
