Chris,

That would be one of the early models, a Baron 55.  As I mentioned, it would 
appear that the one I photographed has been fitted with the D'Shannon 
Aviation STC kit, which will work on all models of the Baron.

I have never flown in one, but I understand that they are well-respected 
airplanes.
