Thanks for all the helpful comments. I find BW landscape the hardest to
get out of my "color" mindset.
I've added two additional "takes" on the original image if you will

The first, following the original image I posted, has my best attempt to
raise the shadowy trees for detail, some added toning, and no additional
sharpening.
The second following is a 6x6-type crop for Rick and Bob. See what you
think.
