I'd concur with Ag's assessment of Google+ vs. Facebook.
I'd add:
Its nice to be able to have control over what post is seen by which people.
Want it seen just by family? Post it to only that circle and that's the
only place it goes.
That might help prevent picture pilfering, Chris, as you can limit ability
to pilfer by limiting exposure of those pictures.
A nice feature Ag didn't mention: automatic upload of images from
smartphones. It's possible to set a smartphone (Android, for sure; iPhone?
Don't know) to automatically send newly taken photos straight to your G+
account, where they are NOT shared by default. One can then share them as
desired. My wife uses the feature often to share images of family events
around here with other family members around the country--in near real
time, if she wishes.
