I don't understand the point - if you have to switch in any case, be  
it the lens alone or the combo lens adaptor, what's the difference?

I had been using an el cheapo adaptor on the L1, worked great and  
still does, years after I bought it.

I also converted lenses for the Nikon using the same El Cheapo source  
- and they have been working fine so far.
Only my Angénieux's would require a specific throat diameter that only  
David Lasso of Leitax can provide.
