No real darkroom sink for me. I've kept an eye out for one for several
years now, but the only ones that pop up are many miles away. Except
when I did some work in a lab and at the college, I've never actually
had a real darkroom sink system for my own use. They really are nice,
but honestly, I'll be just happy as can be just having a sink INSIDE
the darkroom. This kitchen sink arrangement (with a really tall hoop
style faucet), is quite decent.

Where I'm thinking it would be nice having two sinks is when washing
film or prints. It would be nice to be able to wash and do other water
things at the same time. That's why the idea of an 8-footer with a
sink on either end (or two in the middle) is intriguing to me.

Since you brought up wet-side, dry-side... In the main darkroom space,
the south wall is enlargers. The north wall is my tray side. When all
is said and done, I'll have about 16 linear feet of wet-side space,
not including the sink and counter. When not processing prints, the
trays stack up and all that work space is useful for whatever I need a
large flat work surface for.

A very distinct advantage of the kitchen sink and counter arrangement
over a real darkroom sink is how I will install it and by keeping a
door to the laundry room, it will make the darkroom space much less
"purpose-built". That sink addition will add value to the house when
it comes time to sell it. We've bought/sold enough houses to know that
addresses are fleeting. Everything we do to this house has to ride
that balancing act of personal preference vs. resale value.
