You ran into some showpiece flutterbys there. I am jealous.
Mystery guy looks like a Variegated Fritillary. Some spotted not too
far from here in the Mass Lep
October Derby. I haven't seen any lately but tons of Silver bordered
and Great Spangled Frittilaries a couple months ago. Did spot one
Meadow Fritillary last time out. They tend to be strong filiers and
tough to chase and track down..
