Gorilla Marketing. She's good.

National convention. Several states have some structure, but we're
pretty lean. Rosanne excepted, of course. It's an affiliation more
than anything else right now. 2004 was a complete and total screw-up.
Years of momentum building and growth was thrown out the window
because the leadership decided not to be viable in any state that GWB
might be competitive in. We gave the Democratic party free reign in
those states to not steal votes away. Unfortunately, what that did was
knock the percentage of the vote down below the threshold of
viability. The Green Party destroyed itself in an effort to make sure
that GWB lost. GWB won and the Greens lost. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!
This even caused Ralph Nader to break away from them and run
independently. Nader siphoned off most of the Green vote accordingly.

The party is pretty loose and mostly a fringe element of society. We
manage to be in a perpetual state of self-destruction. I've made the
suggestion that we hold our national convention at "Burning Man". I
personally support the Green Party for several very specific and
pointed issues. Most of the party platform is a bunch of hooey, but I
hold my nose for the causes I support. The funny thing is that in the
areas that I consider the platform to be hooey, I'm quite
"conservative". I find that the majority of my Green friends are
exactly the same way. We're completely on opposite ends of the
spectrum at the same time.

There. Enough about that.
