I haven't had driver problems yet but I can't get my HP color printer to
work across the network. It works when attached locally to an XP or
Win7 machine. It's seen and recognized across the network but any
attempt to print from a computer other than the one it's physically
attached to results in print failure. My Brother laser printer,
however, has just worked fine with no need to install anything. I
assume the HP printer problem is some sort of network configuration
problem (probably related to the fact that not all computers on the
network are Win7 "Home Group" compatible. It hasn't been a problem yet
so is relegated to the bottom of the conversion tasks. I should
probably compare the Brother and HP printers' settings.
I still haven't tried my Epson V700 scanner yet since I physically can't
hook it up due to temporary space limitations. The scanner usually sets
above the XP machine but the Win7 machine is now occupying that spot
while I'm switching things over with a KVM switch between them. I don't
anticipate any problem other than needing a new driver which I just
downloaded but haven't installed. The scanner isn't used across the
network so that's not a problem area.
