Might you be confusing two similar, but different things? There was a lot of
overlapping chatter about adapters to µ4/3
from OM mount and many other manual focus lenses - and - about 4/3 to µ4/3
adapters

The former are simply extension tubes with a female MF mount on the front and
male µ4/3 mount on the back. Those for OM
mount also have a tab, screw, pin, etc. inside to open the diaphragm. It's that
item that the Fotodiox discussion was
about.

The latter require 4/3 contacts on the front and µ4/3 contacts on the rear, so
the lens will be automated, with
diaphragm operation and AF. 4/3 lenses mostly will not work without the
contacts. With few exceptions, 4/3 lenses focus
by wire using electric motors and have no manual aperture control. If there is
no power coming into the lens, the focus
motors won't work. If there are no signals coming from the camera, there is no
aperture control.

Both Oly and Panny make these. The Panny is cheaper. I know little more than
that about them, but here's a list with
info.

Here's a user's report on one less expensive one.
<http://fourthirds-user.com/forum/showthread.php?p=76887> Frankly, I'd
opt for the Panny of $102 from B&H over a Chinese one on eBay for $80.

But then, I never went 4/3, so my OM to µ4/3 adapter is all I need.
