Hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right, it's exactly that. I had
a lot of fun designing it and then making it. Bought a knurling tool for the
lathe to make that nice grip on the edge of the platform.
I'm experimenting with other uses, one being mounting the Super Clamp to
the top of a tripod by way of the threaded barrel to hold a Promaster 1100
monopod as a boom. Not sure how well this will work out, but I can get the
camera much closer to the ground.
