Hi Brian,
The true answer is I don't know. I tend to do some work in CaptureOne Pro
(I use that rather than LR for the PhaseOne files) then off to CS6 for
layering until I get it right.
I tend to use Vibrance more than saturation as it's a bit more subtle. I
work hard not to get the "Elvis on Velvet" look. Sounds like you might
think it's overcooked. I'll keep that in mind and appreciate you asking.
