The Italian trains had problems with the Dutch weather. But the story
behind the story is that the Dutch Public Railways (NS) paid so much money
for the licence to operate this line, that few Euro's were left. The German
and Frence makers of 'real' highspeed trains (for instance the TGV) could
not match the requirements of the NS (a train capable of a 250 km/h cruise
speed) in such a tight budget, but the Italians (said they) could...
