Burmese pythons from the Everglades areas allowed for the hunt have been 
tested to have as much as 3.5 parts/million mercury (more than twice the 
recommended limit for fish) and are not recommended for consumption.  On 
the other hand at least one processor is paying up to $45 square foot 
for the skin from snakes of 10 feet or more.
