That sort of plough is very common in the northeast US, especially for
multi-lane highways where you may see two or three such trucks running
side-by-side but staggered front to rear such that the lead truck's
plough feeds the snow off to the side to be picked up by the next truck
and so forth until road and shoulder are fully cleared.
