Given the (many) security problems with Java of late I'd be looking to
avoid anything that requires Java. I was so frustrated by Oracle's lax
behavior in light of multiple, frequent and very serious security
problems that I have banished it from my computers and with no
repercussions so far. It at first appeared that it was needed to print
the NY Times crossword puzzle my wife enjoys but we later discovered it
was available in PDF form which was even better. Good bye Java.
