Garlic ice cream sounds wonderful!

Skye is nice, and mostly they have two-lane roads now, while Mull, which
is also nice, has loads of single-track still. Bit of a time-warp
experience for those of us who remember the old days. Skye has a bridge,
Mull you have to sail.

Chris mentioned Lochinver, which is a corner of the country you can't
miss with, great coastal scenery and fine, individual mountains that you
can see from anywhere. Usually you can find some foreground water to set
them off.

The Bealach na Ba is a great road, you'll wish you had your motorbike,
and there is a great beach at a place (there's nothing actually there)
called Sand. Sand is all there is at Sand. Fine views over to Raasay.

I'm a Cairngorms fanatic, so if you are in the east and fancy some trees
and river, try going west from Braemar to Linn of Dee; but skip the
Linn, and go on past Mar Lodge to the road end at Allanaquoich, park up
and walk north into the trees. Much better, fewer crowds.
