Rockwell is the "Bill O'Reilly" of photography. He has a ton of
followers, occasionally makes sense and is entertaining. He's also
like Bill O'Reilly because there are snippets of truth there that you
can glean, but you've got to sift through a whole lot of chaff to get
there.

Personally, I'm OK with Ken Rockwell. Our backgrounds are very similar
and we are both kinda "out there" in our ways thinking.

When it comes to product reviews, he's another data point. DPReview is
a shill for every model from every brand and is essentially the
"consumer reports" for cameras which means that the camera reviews are
done in the same manner that you would review a washing machine.
Rockwell is a shill for himself and for whatever fancies his pretty
little head. But he does get it right when it comes to intangibles.
He'll call out the good and the stupid in camera designs.

I have my "Ken Rockwell" moments once every couple of months. I'll
write something here that will set people off because I, heaven
forbid, actually express an opinion about a brand I dislike.
