Thanks. Yes, most of the photos have cluttered backgrounds of spectators 
and houses.  It's exacerbated by him playing mostly on the far side of 
the field putting him far from the camera and close to the (largely in 
focus) distractions.  I would have much preferred to shoot from the 
other side of the field since I'd have been closer to the action and 
there were far fewer background distractions on the side I was shooting 
from.  The only problem with that was that I'd have been shooting into 
the morning sun.  I chose the lesser of the two evils.  :-)
