They shouldn't be bypassing the virus checker.  All incoming files 
should be checked in real time.  What virus checker are you running?
I was also hit by a virus several days ago but checking into the details 
I see it was only discovered in the wild a couple of weeks ago.  No 
matter how good your protection you are still subject to stuff that no 
one has learned to recognize yet.

As to Win7 I only made the decision to get off XP and onto Win7 last 
October.  There are still some things I don't like about it but in the 
end I think it's a superior OS.  It and the new 64-bit hardware its on 
make mincemeat of the Dell XP machine at boot time.
