I am lucky in that they have lots of cyclepaths (not so many
psychopaths) but I once managed to get a fine for riding on the pavement
here, I still occasionally do it though when I think its safer.

Since getting my electro bike I predict that they will do what digital
did to film in the next ten years, at least here in switzerland, I have
a 5 mile ride into work all downhill but it's all uphill to go home and
not something I looked forward to at the end of a long days work, now
though I can't wait to get on my bike and hit those hills, and yes it is
faster than the car or the bus with the traffic as it is.

The law in europe is restricting them to 250KW and 25km/h which is
plenty I still get a workout as I seem to be travelling above 25km/h but
if I get tired its like a pal ready to give you a helping hand, plus it
helps you scoot across junctions etc and out of the danger zone much
quicker, once people get over the initial reaction of thinking its
cheating and realising its actually fun and allows you to travel further
and faster things will change, I still have my lovely cannondale for
weekends (cannondale, aerostitch and leatherman are in my opinion the
best things to come from America)
