You've never owned it! 
What you purchased was a licence to use it. 
Which is why it's technically illegal to sell your CS5 after you upgrade to 6.
If you misused it in some way - dunno how but it'll be in the fine print - they 
can confiscate it (terminate the licence).
And you've always been on the treadmill.
I'm still using LR 3 which I love and know how to but if I bought an OM-D I 
don't think it would recognise it. I know there are workarounds like DNG but 
they would interrupt my workflow. 
I predict (here and now, make a note, hold me to it) that they will relent, but 
the price of the outright purchase will be ridiculously high for all but 
corporate and they'd probably prefer cloud to site licence anyway.
