In the 46 years since we built our home, traffic on the two-lane blacktop
street alongside the house has probably tripled, thanks to a lot of building
beyond us and into the next rural county (think Lynchburg, TN, Jack Daniels).
To mask the traffic noise, we planted Dogwoods and Rhododendrons as a sound
barrier. The Dogwood blooms are gone, but the Rhodys are very prolific this
year. (The power and communications cables are on our side of the street)
