Living long is the clue, I suppose. The "Nimwacs" – the Nimrod-based early 
warning platform that the RAF was going to have – had scanning aerials fore and 
aft, never pointing at the cabin. But that caused fatigue on the airframe. It 
was probably one (of many) reason it was cancelled.
