I had a similar situation when dealing with a particular SONY that
I'll not mention the specifics of right now. I couldn't get the EVF
brightness to work correctly for me. Of two cameras, one was great and
the other was a miserable affair. I could never figure out how to get
them to match.

One rule of thumb that I've gone with over the years is to look at the
histogram to confirm exposure accuracy. With the Fuji, I would have
chimped the shot image to confirm that the histogram looks normal and
just toughed it out.

Me thinks that if I covered up the "LUMIX", my DMC-L1 would look a lot
like that X-E1.

My wife says "No more '1' cameras!"

OM-1, IS-1, A1, E-1, L1...
