Yep, it happened again. Yet another instance of the virus that disabled
my WinXP operating system earlier this year. This time, it only disabled the
anti-virus by corrupting a system file. It also installed the Delta toolbar,
which is a significant Trojan Horse portal for spyware and viruses. I've
deleted and reinstalled the anti-virus and am now doing a thorough scan.
Seems that I had shut off the firewall while browsing eBay, which I know
is a very bad idea. Whatever this virus is, it's not easily detected as it is
downloaded one piece at a time, executes when complete, then deletes itself.
I'm absolutely certain that it arrives by way of eBay item description images.
I've heard that ClassMates is also a significant source of this form of
virus.
